- ZETTOU TOKYO is built over the remains of tokyo, sometimes nostalgically referred to as "old tokyo"
- streets are filled with people walking, cycling, skating, but nothing gas powered & generally no full-size vehicles
- cikes or SAIKU are the new wave of motorcycle & very popular; they consist of a nav panel/handlebars, steat, guts & a large oblong gravblade to replace the wheels
- public intercity transit is called THE GEAR - they are street size conveyor belts that spans most of the city & run along sidewalks & mechtraffic. there are 4 main gears vertically across the city:
___GEAR WEST - this gear runs through the human side of town which is mostly homes... think rebuilt apartments. gear west is the cleanest in comparison & everything looks the same. wealthy humans live here
___MID GEAR - the sides of this gear are essentially the marketplace; the only place where humans come together with cyborgs socially. the edges are lined with shops, bars, restaurants, gaming cafes, places that combine all those together, kiosks & merchants. you can get just about anything you want in mid gear. many places of business are owned by cyborgs or humans but maintained by humanoid robots, usually feminine in appearance & are the only places that life-size human-looking robots [see robots] are allowed. the north side is called UPPER GEAR & is all labs, hospitals & government buildings.
___GEAR EAST - gear east is all about the industrial part of the city. recycling plants, water & air purification plants, factories, energy plants... anything that needs to be made starts here with materials coming in from the desert or getting recycled in the city
___LOWER GEAR "Gear Darker" - gear darker was named so by upper echelon humans, as this is the home of the cyborgs & unfortunate weak, poor or outcast humans. this area was never restored like gear west - cyborg homes are built right into destroyed buildings & everything is eroded & dirty; these are the slums after all. other than what DARKERS are forced to call homes, private cyborg repair shops litter the area. located deep within this realm is a partially underground colisseum called CYBERIA which is the general source of cyborg-only entertainment - here you will find: cyborg dancers & escorts, regular drug use, food & alcohol, loud electronic music, & betting - especially on the main attraction: the arena. the arena is the central part of the club with everything else arranged around it. it consists of a huge field of destroyed steel & glass surrounded by super thick glass walls covered in laser-resistant nanomytes. here cyborgs built for battle will fight - sometimes even to the death - for money & fame. cyborgs love it like americans love football & arena stars are their celebrities. every monitor in the place is playing either current battles or highlights of previous ones in between. since it is illegal to fit cyborgs with weapons of any kind, this place existing is only a rumor in the human world. the last thing you will find here is the CIRCUIT since they run the place
- all across the city, mostly out of the way, are thin blue lines... these are gravity magnets called that LEYLINES -they attract positively charged gravblade material. saiku gravblades are as such so that they can drive straight up the face of a wrecked building with no problem. these are generally employed by courriers & shippers but are also popularly raced on & saiku thrillseekers have developed different tricks to exhibit, kinda like vert bmxing
- giant humidifiers are located around the city to create water since underground water sources are tainted. this makes the weather warm & sticky, overcast with a chance of fog
- there are huge industrial fans all over the place as well, since the city is walled-in it's hard for air to move through on its own so the fans were set up to create circulating air
- there is a glowing rain that they call CHEM short for "chemical rain" which is caused by condensation of H2O if the helion molecule - the synthesized molecule in entropyn - is bonded. the color of the glow is based on the spectrum beginning with red at the closest [overhead] & purple at the farthest from the viewer. the rain is irritating to the skin & will poison open wounds
- EDO TOWER (The Sky Tree) [Electronics Development Organization] is right in the middle of the city: a super tall perfectly cylindrical building that was assembled by robots rather than humans in mechs [who do most labor]. this is where edo's engineers work tirelessly to satiate the ravenous desire of the humans for robotic devices. at the top is edo's private penthouse/lab, which is guarded by THE RING - a torus that surrounds the last 10% of the building & is the most formidable security system in zettou, designed by edo himself. it can function completely without supervision but can also be accessed remotely by edo alone
EDO GARDENis not really so much a garden as a large flat area surrounding the entire base of the tower with benches, holoscreens, lamps shaped like metal trees with glass leaves... people come here to be up to date on news that EDO is broadcasting, mostly proprietary, but also from the government. also updated caseals [see robots] can be found here for informational purposes
- PORTALS are found at each exit to the dome & also between gear west & mid gear. they are patroled by the ARASHISEN - giant mechs ridden by humans that act as law enforcement. there is always a large scanning device with a life-size holoscreen that can tell you just about anything about the materials in the scanner - they are used to verify the humanity or lack thereof of citizens & outsiders. to come into zettou, you step behind the scanner. portals are also places to get registered as every person that finds themself in the city must carry a registered identitification device or a RID which shows their record of offenses, personal & genetic information, including what % human they are & what kind of materials they are allowed to be in posession of. portals act as the main base of operations for the arashisen
- THE DOME surrounds the city. it has been in construction for 10 years & is all solar panels. it currently covers 2/3s of the city. much of the city's energy comes from these panels which can also absorb heat & reflected light from the moon. the panels can become somewhat transparent during the day to let a little more light in, but inside the dome it is generally dark due to the weather so streetlights are almost never turned off
- ROBOTEX are places to buy new & popular robotics & can be owned/operated by humans or cyborgs. many are different EDO franchises0

CASE:ALs [kah like "stab" - see - ells like "bells"] - collective archival system extension : autonomous lexical servit - designed by edo to interface on a more direct level with humans. caseals have female human figures with NO LEGS from the knee down & featureless flat faces that act as screens. people can use them to access information by speaking to them. they are like computers that do everything for you. they were the first humanoid robots to be accepted by humans as harmless. they have no other function than to give information out to users with soft, clear female voices in a selection of different languages [mostly for show]. caseals are popularly used to greet customers at shops or restaurants, & can be found all over edo garden
RORITA - popular multi-purpose robots that are usually up to a foot tall. their tasks depend on the kind of chip or chipset they have installed which can be purchased, along with the doll itself including parts, software, accessories & clothes for it, at various ROBOTEX. most rorita are equipped with state-of-the-art anti-gravity capabilities & can be seen floating nearby their owners who wear special bracers that control them. they can do simple things like keep the time, give directions, keep lists, make phone calls, play music, take pictures, record audio & video, access CIS [closed information system - their internet] & download updates, games or other information. a rorita is like a cute little personal assistant. rorita are highly customizable so even though many may have the same base model, very few will actually look the same. some rorita can even fuction as a person's RID [registered identification device]
