She was turned into a cow & driven across the Earth by madness as punishment for crossing Zeus' wife, Hera. After many years, her wanderings brought her to Egypt, where she regained her nymphaic form & became an Egyptian goddess (Isis).

synomate assist type heavy // Jupiter's* body & thus Io's armor is made of nanocarbon: a super light, super hard electromagnetic nanomaterial (with a tight carbon fiber pattern) that builds a hollow shell around parts of Io; these parts compress air inside them like 1-way vaccuums, making them even harder. As the molecules are crushed together, their density gradient increases which causes tension of the outer nanocarbon shell; as the shell expands & contracts with equalized pressure, this pulsating energy flows through the lithium veins on the armor & pools into pink nanoglass generators called gravity wells along Io's armor. The gravity wells convert this energy into the source of Io's element, as they generate the particular kind of gravitational effects that she needs (anti-pressure miasma, or hyper-pressure miasma); they can go from pulsating softly, to a brilliant neon pink glare. Her spine is covered in white nanocarbon shaped to look like vertebrae; there is a clasp at the coccyx for her saber. The spinal shield is equipped with two large gravity wells & a third minor one over the clasp. When her weapon is not in use, it remains in a collapsed state at her back so that she may swifly access it.

Suit Type NEGATIVE MASS GENERATOR KYOKAGE // 豪雨影 (heavy rain; shadow) // ♥♥ The matte, anti-shine black lycron appears partially transparent; it is stretched in a thin layer over her skyn, folded in a second layer over her arms & legs. Llike her armor, is streaked with congruent lithium veins, though the suit's veins are more thin & compact. Kyokage's function is to project an anti-gravity field over Io's body, allowing her to manipulate her own weight through thought. She becomes very light for flying & conversely super-heavy when defensive. The veins will begin to glow bright pink when she powers up.

HELMET collimated beam shield // ♥♥ // Her mask floats just in front of her face. It is black nanocarbon with a few nanoglass generators (two on her jaw & two on her temples). The pink shield is produced by a nanolectric sublimator which forces nano-bonded gas molecules to form a crystaline structure without becoming a liquid - therefor the shield can phase in & out at Io's will; it can go from invisible, to transparent, to completely opaque. The shield protects her face & also carries the same function as her eyes*, but she no longer has to waste her concentration on using them as the mask readily displays information to her. There are skull-like headphones resting on the sides of her head, providing two of the largest & most powerful gravity wells on her body.

Wings & Method of Flight SUBGRAVITATIONAL RIBBONS // ♥ // Io's wings are two pink trails of gravblade that clip to the back of her neck like a scarf more than anything. They whip around in the air & give her body mass friction so that when she weighs nothing, she can move incredibly fast; the heavier she weighs the slower she flies, but she has a better defense when she is heaviest.

Alexiel is an alternate spelling for Anixiel; one of the angels governing the 28 mansions of the moon, Alexiel is the master of the third lunar mansion, Athoray, which resides in the Pleides; Alexiel rules the third day of the lunar cycle - the waxing crescent, the infant moon's dark side lit by earthshine; Alexiel presides over the good fortune of travellers, hunters & scientists during this night. 

Essentially a double saber, Alexiel has a handle in the middle with black rubber grips; it must generally be wielded with both hands. Alexiel is extremely heavy, but thanks to the negative mass generator contained within its' hilt, Io can manipulate its weight at will. It is about 5'5" feet long overall. The twin semi-crescent blades are made of laserblade that get their energy/turn on when in contact with Io so as to tap her ii core directly; they trail liquid pink light even on the brightest day, but look the coolest in the dark. Alexiel is wide enough to be used as a shield also which is great because Io's defense is poor.

Fighting Style Type I Gouu Sorajutsu // 豪雨 空術 (heavy; sky; style)
Io moves unnervingly, zipping around her opponent to get the upper-hand, attacking out of the line-of-sight. She prefers to lure her enemy into the air so that she can use it against them by crushing them to the ground. Her attacks are semi-circular, either vertically or horiztonally & cover a wide area around her. She can easily go from an attacking stance to a defensive stance with Alexiel. When she prepares to land a blow, she puts her maximum weight into the blade - if she misses she may spin out of control or even crash herself. Her melee style is all about showing off Alexiel's range with some spinning kicks for extra flare - she never uses her actual fists. Her kick moves are called hyper-pressure kicks, as she concentrates hyper-pressure miasma into her legs increasing their weight & density.

Halo Type II MASSIVE OSCILLATING SABERS ALEXIUM // アレクシアム
Alexiel evolves into two autonomous blades. The massive part refers to Alexium having mass rather than being large. Io can drop them & they will float beside her, following her hand gestures to protect & attack for her. They sometimes can act without her influence, but usually only in a critical moment.

Fighting Style Type II Kidou Namijutsu // 軌道 波術 (orbital; wave; style)
Io swings Alexium in grand, radial gestures with lots of impact. She can wield the blades without actually holding them, so they spin around her & defend her or attack from otherwise impossible angles. They follow the movement of her hands for the most part; when at rest, they float at her sides.

FIRST ASCENSioN ATTACK HELIX GRAVER // Io twists her arms around in front of her collecting a ball of clear pink energy; tiny radial holographic wings appear around the ball & begin to rotate at first slowly. As the wings spin, her target slows & seems to crumple inwards as if invisible hands are compressing it tightly. Upon release of energy, the ball slams into her target sending them spiraling away with irrational speed & intensity in a shower of bokeh & flickering feathers.

VANGUARD MEGA PRESSURE // To activate her vanguard, Io must take a HUGE breath of air in & hold it. Anti-pressure miasma forms around her body in a sphere. When her 'lungs' reach maximum capacity, objects or energy coming towards her will slow to a stop just beyond her body, held back by invisible disks edged with shimmering feathers. Once everything has stopped completely, she releases the air in a scream, a flash of wing-shaped light exploding behind her. This blasts back anything that got caught in the miasma, sending forth a flurry of sparkling fleathers. Her special attack gets +2 bonus for a short period of time.

Second Ascension (halo type I) attack GIGA BUSTER // Io raises Alexiel into the air & the laserblade transfers completely to its' top. The blade then doubles, triples or even quadruples in size depending on how much she accelerates her ii core during the charge; she can only sustain this for a very short time though. Dropping Alexiel like this on something will cleave it clean in half; the deluge of liquid pink energy that follows tears up its path.

Third Ascension attack MICRO FLOOD // Io creates an energy axis between her targets or directly at the center of one, ephemeral wings outlining the damage area; hyper-pressure miasma fills the sphere. Bringing her hands together as if she is crushing a beach ball, everything inside the 'sphere' is immediately sucked towards the axis as it begins collapsing on itself. Finally the rapidly spinning feather halo explodes in a storm of sparks as Io finally crushes her arms to her chest; she can compact several smaller enemies together or cause just one to implode.

Fourth Ascension (halo type II) attack METEOR SLASH // Alexium floats at her sides her as she raises her arms up; their respective laserblades multiply in length & she sends them spinning like giant glowing frisbees of death to slice her opponents to shreds, accompanied by glittering feather cyclones.

Fifth Ascension attack Perimelasmic SINGULARITY // 6 electric pink, brightly glowing wings begin to unfold from Io's back; her hair whips liquidly as an anti-pressure miasma fills the air, lifting objects, especially light ones. Once her wings are fully extended, she gives them a fervent flap, throwing the back four backwards & the front two folding forward, sending shimmering feathers flying; everything in a 100-sq-ft radius is immediately crushed to the ground by hyper-pressure miasma. The Earth's core begins to spin rapidly, increasing gravitational pressure exponentially every second [this is especially uncomfortable to living creatures]. Io closes her arms over her chest with her head hung, then loosens her arms slightly as if she's holding a baby to her breast... but instead she cradles a precious child of science... an infant micro black hole.

VECTOR (lvl 1)
Io uses hand gestures to telekinetically manipulate objects. The heavier they are the more effort required, so it is often used after hypersaturation to make something lighter. She can lift a few light things near each other easily but must concentrate harder when the objects are heavy; she may even have to focus on only one object to be able lift it.

HYPERSATURATE (lvl 1)
She can alter the weight of things close enough to her that they may begin to float or conversely become super heavy; this currently requires her to concentrate most of her focus on one object.

ACCELERATE (lvl 1)
Io can manipulate the speed of objects. When using hypersaturate with accelerate, she can make something super dense & super fast such that she could send a marble through a building from only 5 feet away, or slow something at a high velocity to a stop



AURA _________________________
Dark Flow // Io's residual energy can be felt immediately when one may notice that something is lighter or heavier than it normally should be around her, but this is usually brushed off as just a strange sensation. There is an intense, unspoken emptiness during the initial absence of her presence; people feel drawn towards her in an inexplicable way. Long-term effects include permanent change to the mass of some objects. If she becomes seriously angered, objects may ominously begin to rise up around her.

function Gravitational Amplification Synomate // Jupiter is a binary mass generator that can boost Io's gravity manipulation even when he isn't fused to her.

look Jupiter is a little shiny black human-shaped robot. He has a helmet with a holographic skull on the face & pink wings on the sides, two spiked pink belts, 10 pink fingers, pink spikey shoulders & two trailing pink gravblade scarves. His body is laced with tiny pink glowing lines filled with liquid gravblade. He is usually found trying to look tough, floating just in front of Io's left shoulder. He is always on guard & either making an intimidating pose or with crossed-arms, hoping to offend anyone that looks at him.

ego Jupiter is very matter-of-fact & logical, he is a robot after all, & his low-pitched, calm monotone supports that. He is overconfident & quite satisfied with himself, giving him a sassy nature; he even talks out loud just to mock others. He gets a little irrated with Io when she refuses to obey him, which is the only time his pitch rises, & very slightly. He is rather bossy & orders Io around as if he is actually the warrior & she is the weapon for him to wield. His normal demeanor is either irrationally calm, or somewhat frustrated from trying to force Io to do as he says. Jupiter is of the belief that he & Io are above all others & looks down on everyone else with contention.

Sobriquet ジュン // Jun, short for Ju-kun; used by Io most often // ジュ ~ チャン // Juu-chan; purposely used by Io to feminize Jupiter - he hates it

syntax Jupiter usually refers to Io as Io-kun like a boy would refer to a younger male classmate. In response to this masculinization, Io will occasionally call him Juu-chan as if they are both young girls instead, which seems to get on Jupiter's nerves; Io will almost definitely resort to this when arguing with him. Sometimes when Jupiter is pleased with Io, he will at length tell her ii-ko dayo (good girl) which is his only manner of praising her directly, or refering to her with any femininity. He never calls her by her chosen name, but has given her the endearing title Anata no nikuya (your butcher) & watashi no chiisana nikuya (my little butcher) when refering to her to other people, even angels.

He refers to humans & cyborgs as jinni'kuro (meatbags) or kuzuniki (wasted meat) because he thinks they are walking corpses, rotting in their flesh; he's pretty much disgusted by their continued existance. He calls the other angels juteki (lesser rivals), & he calls their synomates yatsura (those guys). He has given nicknames to the synomates that he feels are particularly bothersome: sono oukku'kata (that annoying/troublesome one) or just sonokata (that one); urusei'kata (loud one).

tricks Jupiter thinks that he & Io are better than the other angels because her element could do almost anything, so he is always raving about how they could be a higher rank & have better hi-scores than the others, IF SHE WOULD ONLY LISTEN TO HIM. His method of getting her to react is usually by trying to make her angry, because things go boom when Io is angry. He'll often goad her into proving herself by making things out to appear "too difficult" for her to accomplish, knowing that her indignant, self-serving nature will cause her to quickly jump on the defense. He will say things like "maybe I was paired with the wrong angel," or "I wonder if you're really just a prototype." They are much like an older & younger brother, with the former knowing just how to push the latter's buttons... literally! However in the presence of other angels, he will always boast the superiority of Io's abilities, which kinda makes Io feel mushy inside.

Hair
♥♥♥// Vanilla, Platinum Blond, Tourmaline // Io's hair seems to radiate with light, which makes it appear almost pure white; it fades to pink as it stretches down to her shoulder blades with a few pink pieces under her bangs. It is streaked with pearlescent highlights. Her bangs sweep to the left, parted to the right, except for some pieces that always seem to stick out over her cheeks & give her a signature look.

MASS EFFECT LAMINA // When Io is not fused to Jupiter, her hair acts as a negative mass matrix that is actually powered by thousands of small nmg's that make up each strand of hair. It tends to react naturally to her mood rather than be controlled, affecting her weight; when she is offline or asleep, she is at her maximum heavyness, giving her hair a thoroughly soaked look; when she is in a good mood her hair seems feathery as she is at her lightest. The pink part tends to glow if she is manipulating gravity on purpose.

Eyes
♥♥// Aquamarine, Titanium Twilight // Io has wide eyes with sharp corners & thick black eyelashes that look like they must weigh her eyelids down; there is a butterfly-like quality to the shape of her lashes. Her irises are steel aquamarine, & her pupils are titanium twilight . The milky blue of her eyes is glassy & empty, but seems to reflect light from within. Her eyebrows are toasted hazlenut ♥ gull-wings.

COLLIMATED BEam lenses // Her eyes constantly function as shadowgraphers, but vary in intensity. When Io concentrates, everything with mass becomes black & shades of grey to indicate their nearness, while distortion in the illuminated air creates a spatial variation in the intensity of the light in the liquid. Variations in the refractive index caused by density gradients in the fluid distort the collimated light beam. The result is a set of lighter & darker patches corresponding to positive & negative fluid density gradients; if fluid flow is uniform the image will be steady, but any turbulence will cause scintillation. She can use the shadowgraph to discern the mass & velocity of a moving object. This is how Io would see a firing gun.

SKYN
♥♥// Lavender Milk, Dusty Foxglove // Io's complexion looks mostly healthy, which is her biggest reveal that she's not human, but the lack of direct light in the city helps to obscure that fact. Her skin is lavender milk with dusty foxglove low-lights. Under bright sunlight, her skin seems to take on an iridescent effect & shimmers just slightly.

Face
Her nose is small, with a super straight bridge & delicate nostrils. She has pointy tipped ears with slightly more round chambers & tiny earlobes. Her jaw is very angular, coming to a flat but narrow chin. Io's favorite thing about her face is her lips; they are rose pink & slightly pursed into a perpetual pout. Her top lip is a perfected cupid's bow & her bottom lip is plump.

Expressions
Io always looks sort of... surprised, but not in a disarming way.. she looks ready for anything but at the same time still looks fascinated, although detached. She seems confused yet on top of figuring it out. She often stares without abandon.

Attitude
Io seems very exposed & fearless, not afraid to get close to something dangerous just to experience it. She can be annoyed easily, which becomes obvious when she starts leaning heavily to one side.. & if you get the hand-on-the-hip, start counting down.

Voice
Io's voice is comfortablely feminine & almost quiet, but her implied tone of apathy makes her difficult to trust. She doesn't say much, & when she does it's usually in the form of a question. Her words can often be taken as curt, as she tends to adopt Jupiter's condescending demeanor at the slightest bit of irritation, which of course fans the flames of whatever the problem is...

Body
Io is short, about 5'2" with a slender waist & shoulders, but wide hips - she's a pear bodytype; her form is anything but wiry, instead she is kind of plump & filled out, with round thighs & pert breasts. She's quite petite & wears a size XS everything.

Movement
Io doesn't seem very fond of walking, mostly because she is really heavy, & usually looks like she's wandering around in a daze, slowly, aimlessly. She seems either overly cautious & efficient, or graceful by pure luck.

Clothes & Accessories
Io learns quickly that she gets harassed less often when she seems "normal," which also gets her better access to information. Her style is inspired by defiance of the masculinity that her synomate forces on her; she harbors an obsession with extremely girly things.

They range from extremely feminine to almost military. No matter the shoe though she's wearing tall socks... ribbed ones, see-through ones, vertical striped ones, lace or bow topped, basically anything that looks sexy; she also owns several pairs of matching arm stockings.

DEFIANT // Io doesn't like being told what to do. Actually, she can't stand it.

Goals  
She wants to figure things out on her own & discover the truth about the world without anyone influencing her; she especially wants to learn the truth of herself.

Mental Image of Self  
Io has no problems with herself, although she does feel like she's more capable than she has yet proved. She feels like she was lucky to be given the chance to have an awesome body in this world & wants to take care of it. She is however a little unconfident in her battle defense capabilities when things get really intense. To Io, being an angel is fun & playing with others [as she calls it..] is also fun, & learning what she can do with her powers will only make it more fun, right?

Ideal Image of Self
Io wants to be super efficient & desires becoming scionic to satisfy her own sense of pride, though she doesn't feel like it's anything to worry about constantly; she's rather sure she'll get there at her own pace. She also wishes to be as knowledgeable as possible.

Previous Self
Her brain's previous owner was extremely rebellious which has had obvious effects on her current state. She feels indignant to have been selected for the doctor's cause & often thinks of his decision as 'a bad joke.'

Outer Self
Io would like everyone to be honest with her, though she assumes most often that they won't. She'd like to come off as menacing, a method of overcompensation to be sure, but her tiny stature & cute appearance alway plays against her. She isn't afraid to ask whatever she wants of whomever she wants & can't normally avoid being offensive with her directness, especially with her total lack of respect for Japanese linguistic formalities. People usually view her as a loose cannon & ogle her awkwardly, hoping that if she feels ostracized enough she'll just leave; something about her seems weird to most, & rightfully so - it is quite easy for things to go very wrong when she is mocked or crossed as she jumps to action with little consideration for anything besides her own personal satisfaction.

Feelings on Mission
Io thinks it's just great that she got this cool body & has all these neat advantages available to her, though she isn't sure yet if she's really the right person for the job she's meant to do. Her mission is her burden as far as she is personally concerned. Her motivation to complete said mission rests solely with Jupiter & how hard he pushes her; if it weren't for his antics, she would go completely rogue. Getting to scionic level seems fun, & she likes the idea of having a bunch of new powers at her disposal, but she doesn't feel rushed to do so & favors procrastination over the tireless training Jupiter demands. Hi-score does sound pretty tasty though!

Feelings on Humans/Cyborgs
She thinks humans/cyborgs should be given the opportunity to reach their maximum capacity - unless they fall out of her personal favor or usefullness. Her primary perception of humans/cyborgs is that they are information recepticals, though she normally doesn't believe the first thing she hears. She doesn't really care about what humans have done to the earth because she doesn't have a point of reference to how things were before; even though Jupiter has shown her many images of the lost paradise from the past, she regards it as a dream & doesn't feel like humans have taken anything away from her.

She refers to others as kimitachi (you all), a term collloqially used by young girls.

Feelings on Dr. Hikari
Dr. Hikari's death weighs heavily on Io's mind; she feels he was the one person that had all the answers to her questions, the main one being "why do I have to do what you say?" Although she is convinced that the doctor was taken away from her, she also can't help the feeling that he abandoned her when she needed him the most. She blames him for the solitude she is forced to bear by not having anything in common with others & shirks all acceptance of responsibility for her flaws by shifting it to being "his fault;" she isn't sure if the ideals of a man like that are worth her complete, unquestioning obedience. Deep down Io harbors an obsession with the doctor, a combination of reverence for his amazing work & spite for his treatment of her, with a twist of disheartening attraction to his complete disregard for human life. Because she can never confront him (& she hates those that stole this from her) she wants to find out everything she can about him so she can figure out his true motives, hopefully without accidently following along with his plan.

She refers to Dr. Hikari as ika (doctor) in a detached, somewhat formal but overly derogatory way, with the tone of a spiteful, nostalgic ex-lover.

Feelings on Angels
Io's initial feelings on the other angels are that if she gets too close to them, she won't be paying attention & will get aggro'ed, thus she likes to keep her distance & learn about them by observing them if she can. In the event that she has the element of surprise & can get the jump on them however, she views the angels as toys for her to play with by testing her powers out on, so she likes to sneak around & wait for critical strikes. After the first attack she won't fight another angel if it refuses to fight her back, which she finds dreadfully boring.

She refers to the others as minna (everyone) even if it's only one other angel, & never refers to anything/anyone but angels this way. She's weird.

Feelings on Synomate
More than anything, Io thinks of Jupiter as an annoying teacher or pushy older brother, & wishes he would just butt out with his opinion. His straight-forward, technical approach to everything is always seen as critical of Io; she insists he has an "attitude problem" because he is rarely ever happy with the way she does anything. She would rather outright defy Jupiter in an attempt to irritate him, but usually only ends up becoming frustrated herself by his cold, inhuman reactions (or lack-thereof). She will eventually comply with his wishes when the need to defend her own sense of pride arises.

Io sees Jupiter as a usurper trying to take the place of Dr. Hikari, even though he holds his maker in the highest regard & insists that Io must personally be the one to avenge him. She is reluctant to believe that Jupiter is a realistic representation of what she imagines to have been a hyper-intelligent & frighteningly capable psychopath, & wonders why the good doctor would stick her with this bossy jerk. If Dr. Hikari is her high commander, the shogun, the war-lord that spawned the battle, Jupiter is merely an officer of the doctor's army & doesn't hold much of a higher ranking than Io herself. She uses this as an excuse to defy Jupiter's wishes, like a child telling their step-parent "Yeah well you're not my real father!"

Irony
She literally has oppositional defiance disorder. She was created to be obedient to her cause, but HATES taking orders more than she hates humans; telling her what to do will often result in her doing the opposite thing just on principle. Dr. Hikari would probably have done better if he had told her he wanted her to save humanity instead of destroy it.
